DFS 5: Maturing in Discipleship

Maturity results from steadfast growth. A mature person is one who has fully-developed potential, reliable, and shows consistent ways of thinking, speaking, and behaving. A growing disciple aims to reach maturity. In this study, based on the Book of James, disciples will see how further growth that leads to maturity can take place as disciples develop a proper response to varying life situations. Disciples will learn how to confront adversities that try their faith, how to relate to other Christians who differ in their backgrounds, and how to continue to overcome selfish tendencies while living in an evil world. Finally disciples will learn that they must demonstrate a faith that is integrated in all aspects of daily living.
